In keeping with their reputation for innovation and expanding the horizons of Xbox gaming and competition, Team Compete today announced the largest known Halo2 prize incentive for Xbox live competitive play.
A $25,000 cash prize purse for a 64 team league was announced to the membership today.
Competition will take place using the newly launched Team Compete Professional League (TCPL) system and will run for a 12 week season culminating in a 16 team playoff round to determine prize distributions.
All teams that make the playoff will be guaranteed a share in the $25,000 League pay out.
Specific League rules and terms of participation are forthcoming and will be posted on the Team Compete web site.
Other Pro League Cash Promotions:
In addition to the Halo2 play which begins in November, Team Compete announced four (4) other Leagues designed to get players active in the TCPL immediately and to increase their understanding of the power and features contained in the TCPL Pro League service.
Each mini-league will run for 5 weeks and offer a $1,000 cash prize pool for the to 25% of the finishers to spur interest and encourage participation.
These leagues will support Ubisoft's Black Arrow and GRIT games, the most played games in the popular Tom Clancy series of first person shooter games from Ubisoft.
There is no entry fee for these leagues which are open to all TCPL registered members.These leagues are specifically structured as
promotional incentives to spur creation of new Black Arrow and Ghost Recon teams in early October and to give the TCPL members hands on experience with the new TCPL software officially launched in late September.
International Support at Launch:
One of the leagues will be a Black Arrow League for UK/European gamers enabling them to play in their own time zones and under any specific rule sets that best meet their local needs.
